Boatskills Course 2004

Who for:   Guides & Rangers who really want to learn how to kayak
When:   Sunday 15th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 29th February 10.00 am - 3.00 pm
Where:   At the Guide Boat Centre, Curran Street, Westhaven

And then to enjoy putting it into practice

What Else: A weekend Kayak camp at Mahurangi
When: 9.30 am Saturday 20th March to 3 pm Sunday 21st March 2003.

Cost: $10.00 per day for day sessions additional $25.00 for camp.

Numbers will be limited, register now to ensure your place.

You will need to attend the skill sessions and demonstrate that you have basic kayak skills and boating theory before going on the camp. The Boating Centre leaders' decision is final. Please tell us what (if any) skills you already have.

For the day sessions bring:

  • Togs and towel
  • Woollen jersey or thermal top
  • Wind-proof jacket
  • Life-jacket (if you have one)
  • Old sneakers or boat shoes to wear in the water
  • Hat and Sunscreen
  • Lunch (there will be sausages and drinks for sale)
  • Swimmability Card (If you do not have a card you will need to be able to complete the requirements at the Skills days)
  • Kit lists will be issued for the camp at the day sessions.
