Finding Nemo Camp 2004

In November 2004, St Giles, White Swan (Roskill/Lynfield District) and Glendowie Brownie units combined to have a Finding Nemo camp at Kiwanis in Huia. 36 girls stayed and four came for the day on Saturday as there wasn't room for them to sleep.

After unpacking sleeping bags on Friday evening, we did some Nemo crafts and Saturday (amazingly, in view of the weather we have had) was beutifully fine for a lot of water and other activities as the girls tried to find Nemo. A Big Foot trail, following footsteps left by the men who stole Nemo, damming the stream, sailing boats made from egg cartons and doing an obstacle course set by the St Giles Guides from Roskill/Lynfield district were highlights. The follwing poem was written by a mother helper at camp.

Arrived at last, untie our knots
Then begin we did painting spots.
Maps in pieces put together,
Opened a trail to chocolate fish.
Water kick fights and water balloon volley,
Things we did not want to finish.
Bright and colourful crafts we made,
Memories of fun that will not fade.
