Quill Pens

Make a Quill Pen

(cl. 17 of Then and Now Unit Patch includes using a dip pen)

Discuss being sensible with knives and cutting away from you first, and use a sharp knife and cutting board. You can buy suitable feathers at craft shops.

Cut the tip of your feather off at an angle.
Cut a slit into the tip of the end.
Your quill is ready to write with.
Now choose your ink - fountain pen or homemade or invisible (lemon juice or milk).
Use for a wide game or make at camp or write elegant invitations to a parent's night.
